Job Title: Administrative Specialist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Specialist II to join our Human Resources Department at the City of High Point, NC. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to the HR department, collaborate with team members to improve administrative processes, and enhance departmental efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including data entry, records management, and filing.
  • Monitor and order department supplies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and direct them to the appropriate resource.
  • Input and maintain employee data in HRIS, ensuring data integrity and accurate record-keeping.
  • Coordinate citywide employee events and programs to improve employee engagement and morale.
  • Manage the offsite storage of HR records.
  • Process P-card and voucher expenses for the HR Administrative Division.
  • Escalate complex and sensitive matters to HR Analyst or higher-level functional leadership.
  • Support the learning and development activities at the city, including logistics and program tracking.
  • Assist the HR Director with data and reporting, including metrics such as turnover and retention rates.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience within an office setting.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills, typing skills of 50 wpm, and intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn new software rapidly.
  • Valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
  • Self-starter with a strong ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at once.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an HR setting.
  • Proficiency with Workday or similar HR management system.
