Position Overview: The Medical Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling pharmaceutical products, while effectively managing a designated sales territory to achieve optimal sales performance and profitability. Territory Focus: The core area of responsibility includes Springfield, Palmer, and Wilbraham.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 1 year of experience in outside/B2B sales is preferred
  • Current residency within the specified territory or willingness to relocate
  • Valid US Driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Able to lift and transport product boxes weighing up to 20 pounds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a daily sales call plan utilizing analytical skills to identify customers and prospects from digital data.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle daily in compliance with company Fleet policies.
  • Conduct multiple visits throughout the workday to engage with healthcare professionals, including physicians and pharmacists.
  • Utilize digital devices to effectively demonstrate Kowa's marketing and sales tools, enhancing the sales process.
  • Maintain monthly inventory of product samples and marketing materials, adapting to various weather conditions as necessary.
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical knowledge of Kowa's products, articulating their clinical and economic advantages to medical professionals.
  • Organize and participate in informational sessions, including lunches and dinners, to educate healthcare providers on disease states and treatment options.
  • Document all interactions with healthcare professionals daily using digital tools or appropriate forms when necessary.
  • Achieve established sales goals and market share objectives within the territory through effective sales techniques.
  • Submit business expenses promptly in accordance with company policy.
  • Travel independently for training and meetings, which may include air travel and overnight stays.
  • Adhere to all relevant FDA, AMA, PhRMA, HIPAA, and safety regulations.
  • Follow all company policies and maintain a consistent work schedule.
  • Present oneself in a professional manner appropriate for the role.
