The NNSA Mission Chief Business Officer will collaborate with senior leadership within the SRNS NNSA-focused organization to facilitate the formulation, dissemination, and execution of strategic goals and policies aimed at achieving Business and Customer Excellence.

This role entails providing guidance and oversight to Programs, Projects, and Financial operations associated with Defense Programs and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Missions.

This senior position will play a crucial role in developing and executing facility management initiatives and enhancing operational conduct in nuclear and high-risk environments, as well as overseeing cross-cutting national programs in nuclear non-proliferation.

This Chief Business Officer position requires a high degree of collaboration, working closely with NNSA team members and stakeholders.

This leader will be tasked with nurturing relationships with SRNS and Customer leadership to ensure the successful execution of business initiatives and projects, focusing on identifying common interests and achieving consensus.

Major Duties Include:

  • Guide the organization towards achieving business objectives by promoting communication and the execution of strategic goals across the organization.
  • Establish relationships with both internal and external clients within SRNS NNSA-focused organizations, NNSA counterparts, and across the Enterprise.
  • Ensure a strong emphasis on Customer Excellence throughout the business, meeting key objectives to fulfill customer needs.
  • Design, develop, and implement initiatives that address critical organizational and/or client requirements.
  • Foster an environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Implement and uphold a Management Operating System in all relevant areas to ensure consistent communication.
  • Assist the Sr. Vice President and/or the Deputy Vice President in managing the complete operations of SRNS NNSA missions and the various functions within the business.
  • Support the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and directives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cultivate a sustainable organization by developing and advancing organizational objectives and talent initiatives.
  • Engage in executive-level customer interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sr. Vice President.

Expected Outcomes & Success Indicators:

  • Continuous improvement in business performance year over year.
  • Execution of Monthly/Quarterly Performance, Evaluation, Management, Plan (PEMP) covering: 1) Weapons, 2) Nuclear Security Threats, 3) Facility Operations, 4) Leadership.
  • Successful completion of targeted initiatives.
  • Ongoing enhancement of organizational talent metrics.
  • Adherence to and execution of the organizational Management Operating System.
  • Improvements in productivity and other business initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

Extensive senior leadership experience in a commercial, governmental, or military operations context.

Direct experience with matrix management and influencing through indirect leadership in a complex, cross-functional organization.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
