Job Summary

The Processing Lead is a critical role at Daybreak Foods, responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our breaking room. This individual will be the go-to expert for all functions in the breaking room, including breaker operation, liquid product filtration and cooling, liquid product storage, and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all functions in the transfer room, orientor, washer, and candler operation are running efficiently.
  • Monitor and control egg product flows to meet customer specifications.
  • Perform tanker CIPs, pipeline set-up, liquid product pumping, pipeline CIPs, and silo CIPs as needed.
  • Follow established procedures and maintain accurate documentation, including USDA/FSIS paperwork.
  • Collaborate with department leads and USDA/FSIS inspectors to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Recommend process improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Communicate effectively with Transfer Room stakeholders to optimize egg flow and meet customer demands.
  • Monitor Breaking Room operations and adjust processes as necessary to meet customer specifications.
  • Work closely with Management to adjust schedules and respond to changing production needs.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing of processing equipment.
  • Conduct post-sanitation inspections of all equipment to ensure compliance.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to crew members to ensure effective performance.
  • Delegate tasks to line workers as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous food plant experience highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes.
  • Basic math skills and ability to load trucks for efficient product dispatch.
Work Environment

Working at Daybreak Foods requires frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, water, and chemicals. The work environment is regulated for temperature and noise levels. Proper personal protective equipment is required during certain working conditions. Employees must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) due to working in a food manufacturing environment.

The starting rate for this position is $23.42, with incremental increases earned through developing skills and qualifications. Ask the Human Resources Representative about potential bonuses.
