Associate Director, Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to join our Development team at Loyola University Chicago. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and qualifying prospects, soliciting and closing four and five-figure philanthropic gifts, and assisting regional major gift officers in building a pipeline of Major Gifts prospects/donors to advance the strategic priorities of the university.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of assigned leadership annual gift prospects through personal and virtual engagement, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding prospects for leadership and potential major level gifts.
- Meet activity and revenue goals through personal outreach and regular travel, formulating and implementing strategies for short-and long-term giving outcomes, devising performance metrics, and collaborating with major gift officer(s) in assigned region.
- Collaborate appropriately and effectively with University departments and Advancement colleagues to engage them in ways that advance Loyola's leadership annual-gift level fundraising objectives.
- Offer prospects strategy counsel, coordinate appointments, and prepare required materials for prospect meetings or phone calls with Dean, alumni volunteers, faculty, and/or other senior administrators within the assigned prospect pool.
- Ensure compliance with prospect management guidelines for data entry and metric tracking, attending regularly scheduled University and Advancement meetings, and creating monthly reports that accurately reflect activity and performance and track progress toward meeting fundraising goals.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years of relevant fundraising experience or sales experience in a complex organization, with a preference for demonstrated success in making and closing four and five-figure gift solicitations from individual donors.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills, prior experience working with staff and volunteers, and the ability to manage complex relationships and collaborate and work effectively in a diverse community.
- Proficiency with fundraising databases and technology, understanding of the 'Moves Management' process or other proven relationship-management process/philosophies, and ability to think and work strategically.
- Willingness to travel and work hours outside the normal working day, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, establish priorities, and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse community.
