Job Summary

SOS International LLC is seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team. As a Medical Records Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, update, and maintain accurate and complete medical records for patients
  • Verify and process medical documentation, including laboratory and radiology reports
  • Route clinical reports to appropriate staff members in a timely manner
  • Archive clinical information in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, and route incomplete documents to providers for correction
  • Utilize electronic health records and other systems to process and maintain medical records
  • Perform record-keeping functions in accordance with program policies and position
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in electronic health records and other systems
  • Complete and pass Medical Records Technician competencies initially and annually
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical record technician, medical record clerk, unit secretary, or similar position
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain pre-employment medical clearance
  • Knowledge of basic principles of standard electronic medical record procedures, methods, and requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to manage high volume of medical records daily
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of patient medical records
Preferred Qualifications
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish
  • Prior experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure. The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, or jogging. The employee may be required to respond during an emergency activation and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
