Carpenter and Maintenance Specialist

This Carpenter and Maintenance Specialist position is a critical part of our team at KBR, responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks to maintain, repair, and improve facilities and structures for a USG project.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.
- Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.
- Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.
- Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.
- Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking.
- 5+ years' experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
- Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
- Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and be willing to take a polygraph and upgrade your clearance as required.
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
