About the Role

This Carpenter, Maintenance position is a key member of our team at KBR Government Solutions, responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks to maintain, repair, and improve facilities and structures for a USG project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.
  • Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.
  • Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.
  • Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
  • Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
  • Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
