Job Summary

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in coordinating, supervising, and directing all engineering/maintenance operations at Plant Riverside District. This includes maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain physical plant equipment, including refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of engineering staff.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel, including guestrooms, public spaces, and related equipment and systems.
  • Ensure equipment operates at optimal effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assist Chief Engineer in developing and maintaining a weekly work schedule to ensure proper engineering coverage.
  • Provide reports on project milestones and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Control expenditures within budget limitations.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members and other department leaders.
  • Supervise staff's ability to execute department and hotel emergency procedures.
  • Assist Chief Engineer in managing effective equipment, guestroom, and hotel-wide preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards.
  • Accurately log and record brand-related reports, energy-related reports, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to the Progressive Discipline Policy.
  • Perform weekly inspections to evaluate physical condition of facilities and determine necessary work.
  • Select and order new equipment, supplies, and furnishings as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title required.
  • Experience within luxury brand/markets required.
  • Trade-related certifications preferred.
Work Environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise and no private office.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism, and collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis.
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation, which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.
