Job Summary

The Engineering Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this position is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing all engineering/maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of engineering staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the hotels, including guestrooms, public spaces, and all related hotel equipment and systems.
  • Ensure equipment is operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in developing and maintaining a weekly work schedule to ensure proper engineering coverage.
  • Provide reports on project milestones and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in controlling expenditures within budget limitations.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members and other department leaders.
  • Supervise team members' ability to execute department and hotel emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate logs, brand-related reports, energy-related reports, and other records as required.
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to the Progressive Discipline Policy.
  • Perform weekly inspections to evaluate the physical condition of facilities and determine the type of work required.
  • Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title required.
  • Experience within luxury brand/markets required.
  • Trade-related certifications preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience. Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office. Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism, and collaboration. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
