Sales Lead

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Lead to join our team at Ascena. As a Sales Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, operating as the Manager on Duty in the absence of a manager, and performing operational and transactional functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional client service and ensure that clients remain the top priority
- Support the business strategy and adjust to effectively reach goals
- Drive revenue by proactively managing the client experience and performing Manager On Duty responsibilities
- Utilize tools to ensure a client-focused team environment
- Coach associates on client interactions and performance to maximize productivity and capture client opportunities
- Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of management, including opening and closing registries, opening checklists, bank deposits, and retrieving and sending emails
- Assume PIN and signature privileges for register functions requiring approval
- Utilize reports to make effective merchandising decisions and style the store in Division standards
- Ensure optimal coverage and productivity in all areas of the store through scheduling
- Complete daily tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly and meets all Ascena standards and guidelines
Requirements:
- Client Service: Ability to prioritize client needs and balance required tasks and overall store operations
- Store Operations and Organization: Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
- Merchandising: Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement and maintain with Ascena's guidelines
- Accuracy: Ability to handle cash and provide change without error, and prepare nightly deposits as necessary
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, members of management, business partners, and store associates
- Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening and weekend shifts
- Physical: Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, and maneuver effectively around the sales floor, stock room, and office
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum six months Sales Associate experience with Ascena or equivalent experience with another retailer in a position of sales associate or higher
- Part-time or full-time managerial experience preferred
