The Senior Production Scheduler is responsible for formulating and implementing the production strategy, orchestrating work orders for designated production lines to ensure optimal product output that aligns with forecasts while maintaining adequate safety stock to prevent shortages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Syspro ERP system to assess the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and make necessary modifications to the Build Schedule to achieve targeted inventory levels and service standards.
  • Oversee safety stock levels, batch sizes, lead times, and other critical planning metrics.
  • Evaluate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations, adjust as needed, and initiate production jobs.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow Production Planners and the Purchasing department regarding any alterations to the production schedule that necessitate expedited raw materials and components.
  • Monitor job progress throughout the production workflow to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify potential risks to inventory goals due to raw material shortages, component deficits, or production capacity limitations, and propose solutions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze historical sales data against future forecasts and report any discrepancies to the Marketing team.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new products, ensuring appropriate timelines and contingency measures are in place.
  • Conduct comprehensive impact assessments for any changes in product formulation or discontinuation considerations to evaluate financial implications and optimal timing to minimize obsolescence.
