Job Description

Are you passionate about human space exploration and working with a diverse team to make a difference? MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a System Verification and Validation Engineer on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

As a System Verification and Validation Engineer, you will develop test cases and test scripts for software verification efforts, integrate software from various vendors, and develop tests for dynamic physical systems. You will also develop data analysis and simulation techniques and perform other duties as required.

Here are the key qualifications for this role:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test high criticality software
  • Experience with highly autonomous systems
  • Experience with web-based collaboration tools
  • Proficiency with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

Preferred qualifications include proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, experience developing software across the full development life cycle, and knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software.

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

MRI Technologies is a Federal Contractor, and most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation. MRI also completes a pre-screening background check for anyone offered employment.
