Senior Systems Engineer Pressurized Lunar Rover

Oceaneering Space Systems is a leading provider of innovative technologies for space and harsh environments. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration section in the Engineering Department. Your primary responsibility will be to work with the team to produce Systems Engineering & Integration products for the NASA Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Human Surface Mobility (HSM) Program (EHP) with specific technical reporting through the Pressurized Lunar Rover (PR) Project Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering products such as design reference missions, Human Systems Integration tasks, integration plans for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and other integration plans
  • Responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintaining program requirements including Project Technical Requirements Specification (PTRS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Verification and Validation Document (V&VD), and Verification Success Criteria (VSC)
  • Utilize requirements management software and systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cradle, or MagicDraw
  • Prepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Work with team members to identify risks, to develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responses
  • Perform and review system-level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performance
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection
  • Expert knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation
  • Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including PTRS and Verification and Validation documents (V&VD), and ICD
  • Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware
  • Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification
  • Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering products
