Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing medical nutrition therapy to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments to identify patients' nutritional risk factors and develop personalized nutrition care plans.
  • Design and implement modified diets in accordance with physician orders and adapt them to meet individual patient needs.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and healthcare teams on medical nutrition therapy and healthy eating habits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including medical records and productivity reports.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with evidence-based practice guidelines and nutrition care standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligibility with registration within 6 months of hire.
  • CT state dietitian-nutritionist certification or certification eligible with certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires sitting and standing for extended periods, as well as walking to provide coverage on various hospital units or clinics.
