Job Overview

Squans Construction, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Project Manager to lead our engineering and construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and working directly with clients to ensure priorities are aligned, deliveries are being met, and overall expectations are being met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan all phases of the engineering project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Lead project meetings, create agendas, assign action items, follow up on open action items, and hold team accountable for commitments.
  • Create detailed schedules that outline due dates for each task, rolling up to milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage project level forecasts monthly for all assigned projects.
  • Monitor utilization and work with design manager and permitting manager to ensure resources are correctly allocated to the project.
  • Manage permit coordinators, ensure team is updating applicable trackers at appropriate intervals, and set priorities for them.
  • Professionally communicate with clients and all other stakeholders (both internal and external).
  • Clear roadblocks impacting the design, field, permitting, and GIS teams.
  • Collaborate with construction team members, design manager, field manager, permit manager, and GIS manager.
  • Provide weekly updates on project financial health on internal calls and speak to monthly forecast each week.
  • Meet with Jurisdictions Having Authority (JHAs) and communicate all applicable local, state, national codes and regulations, and safety precautions are followed by the design and permitting team.
  • Coach and mentor team members when appropriate.
  • Conduct performance management functions when necessary and follow through with proper documentation.
  • Escalate internally when challenges arise between Design and PM teams for resolution.
  • Submit and approve timesheets daily with the appropriate time coded to the project, aspect, and task.
  • Conduct interviews of permit and project coordinator candidates and be involved in hiring decisions.
  • Stay current with scope changes and understand the scope applicable to the work being performed to maintain change control and where appropriate, complete change orders with the client.
  • Come well prepared for meetings with client, peer managers, and Squan Leadership.
  • Focus on high-level customer interaction to both internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Three years of telecommunication project management experience or 5 years of experience in a Lead or Coordinator role with similar responsibilities in the telecommunication industry.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, management, engineering, or a related degree.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience managing turnkey, EPC, and design/build projects in the telecommunication industry.
