Facilities Maintenance Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance operations within the hotel, ensuring that routine, preventive, and emergency tasks are executed efficiently through both personal involvement and the guidance of maintenance personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delegate tasks to oneself and maintenance staff, ensuring clarity in roles.
- Monitor progress to guarantee timely and quality completion of assignments.
- Collaborate with the Regional/Chief Engineer to prioritize and schedule work orders and special projects for the maintenance team.
- Provide guests with prompt and professional service regarding their maintenance inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure all equipment is in proper working order.
- Implement and adhere to lockout/tagout protocols for safety.
- Ensure tools and equipment are functional and secured.
- Keep storage areas and workspaces organized and clean.
- Work with the Regional/Chief Engineer to maintain outdoor areas, including pools and fitness facilities, to meet hotel standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic building maintenance tasks such as wall repairs, tile work, and painting.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness and security.
- Address cleaning and maintenance requests as directed by the front desk.
- Manage the ordering of supplies and the upkeep of recreational facilities.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.
- Assist in training staff and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and maintain function rooms as needed.
- Schedule shifts and breaks for maintenance associates.
- Exhibit leadership through effective communication with team members, guests, and vendors.
- Participate in mandatory meetings and hotel events.
- Adhere to all company policies and standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Perform additional duties as required.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong management and supervisory capabilities.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
- Computers and software for maintenance management.
- Manual and electrical tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Building/Maintenance is advantageous.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a hotel setting is preferred but not mandatory.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver's License is essential.
- Familiarity with safety standards and tool operation is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of bending, stooping, walking, and climbing as necessary.
- Must have good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
- Willingness to walk the property for extended periods to assess maintenance needs.
- Physical capability to perform repairs as required.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Effective communication skills are essential for interaction with associates and guests.
- Basic mathematical skills for managing tasks and inventory.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately, whether written or verbal.
- Conflict resolution skills are necessary.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to cleaning agents, paints, and maintenance chemicals.
- Compliance with safety procedures is expected at all times.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and communication are required in a hospitality setting.
