About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Alumni Relations to join our team at the University of Illinois Chicago. As a key member of our Office of Medical Advancement, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that fosters strong relationships with our over 30,000 alumni and learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a robust alumni engagement plan that aligns with the University's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni leaders, donors, and volunteers to collaborate on engagement initiatives and deliver high-quality programming.
  • Implement an annual outreach plan based on Alumni Engagement Metrics data to meet established goals and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and execute an annual calendar of alumni communications to deliver consistent messaging across multiple channels.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Alumni Relations and the UI Health Donor Acquisition and Engagement team to support the growth and development of UICOM.
  • Assist in managing the alumni program budget, evaluating activities, and preparing reports demonstrating the growth and value of alumni engagement.
  • Support areas of synergy to maximize resources and provide a coordinated alumni experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of work experience in alumni relations, advancement, volunteer engagement, special events, meeting planning, social media management, or a related field.
  • Exhibited ability to interact comfortably, tactfully, and effectively with alumni, donors, volunteers, and internal constituents of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team-based organization.
  • Excellent oral and written skills and strong planning and administrative skills.
  • High professional and ethical standards in all matters, including the handling of confidential information.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) and database management essential.
