Summary

The Airport Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting the Operations Manager with the execution of operational and security duties at the airport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily inspections of the Air Operations Area (AOA) to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Airport Certification Manual (ACM), Emergency Plan, Vehicle Access Plan, Snow Removal Plan, and other necessary operational protocols.
  • Coordinating and supervising construction activities on the airport premises.
  • Enforcing airport regulations and policies.
  • Collaborating with airlines, tenants, and external agencies during snow removal operations and operational emergencies.
  • Monitoring compliance with noise abatement procedures and operational constraints.
  • Conducting security inspections and maintaining airfield security to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assuming the responsibilities of the Operations Manager during emergency situations until further notice.
  • Enforcing access regulations within the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA).
  • Monitoring the Glycol Containment system in line with Best Management Practices.
  • Assisting with noise abatement by logging and addressing complaints.
  • Reporting any irregularities, including fire hazards and security breaches.
  • Issuing NOTAMS regarding runway conditions and other essential notifications for safe airport operations.
  • Activating alarms and contacting emergency services in case of fire or unauthorized access.
  • Operating the paging system to alert management of aircraft codes or emergencies.
  • Supervising the collection and distribution of data related to property claims, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctions for management review.
  • Representing the Airport Manager in routine operational matters and emergencies in the absence of senior management.
  • When assigned, inspecting and monitoring airport service levels.
  • Participating in Total Quality Management Programs.

Management Responsibilities

This role involves direct supervision of two or more non-supervisory staff within the Operations Department. Responsibilities include:

  • Training and developing employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Evaluating performance and addressing employee concerns.
  • Participating in hiring, disciplinary actions, goal setting, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field is preferred.
  • One to two years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, and technical publications.
