EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Exempt
Position Summary:
This position is integral to the Consumer Insights team, playing a pivotal role in conducting business analysis and understanding market categories through the consumer perspective. The aim is to facilitate informed brand decisions that align with the strategic goals of the organization. The individual will be responsible for supporting a diverse portfolio of brands and will proactively relay insights on business performance, encompassing a thorough understanding of brand health, consumption patterns, and competitive landscape.
Moreover, this role will serve as the subject matter expert on consumer dynamics for designated brands, providing regular updates on consumer behavior trends within relevant segments. Collaboration within the team is essential to develop efficient business insights reports and processes that clearly outline performance drivers for the brands.
Leadership ResponsibilitiesThis role does not entail direct supervisory duties but is expected to mentor marketing and cross-functional colleagues, acting as a subject matter expert from both brand and consumer perspectives, while exemplifying analytics leadership within the marketing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee comprehensive monthly tracking systems to swiftly identify significant changes in brand performance and communicate findings to brand leaders.
- Clarify the current state of brand performance against established goals, identify driving factors, assess impacts on goal achievement, and propose actionable strategies.
- Generate monthly reports and senior management updates, including brand scorecards, health assessments, and category performance evaluations.
- Construct and refine consumption models to uncover correlations between shipments and consumption, contributing to monthly production forecasts and financial planning.
- Develop reporting standards for routine business and brand performance assessments, as well as evaluations following key marketing initiatives such as product launches and media campaigns.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and reports, translating data into actionable insights and narratives.
- Responsible for designing, refining, and executing reporting on overall category and brand performance, identifying key growth drivers and competitive performance factors through the consumer lens.
- Collaborate with consumer insights to create and maintain consumer handbooks that elucidate the characteristics and behaviors of brand and competitor consumers.
- Integrate actual consumer behavior data with stated behaviors and attitudes in partnership with consumer insights.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through existing capabilities and recommend improvements, including exploring new data analysis tools and visualization partners.
- Effectively communicate any changes in data requirements to partners to enhance understanding of business and brand performance.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Data Analysis: Proficient in identifying critical trends and key drivers within complex data sets, transforming them into compelling narratives for various stakeholders, including senior leadership. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights effectively.
- Curiosity: An innate curiosity and a drive to delve deeper into understanding the reasons behind business performance and consumer behavior.
- Excel: Advanced proficiency in Excel to convert data into insights that support clear and visual storytelling.
- IRI/Nielsen Data: Familiarity with IRI/Nielsen POS and shipment data to analyze interrelationships and implications.
- Experience with Tableau and other data visualization platforms is advantageous.
- A proactive, energetic individual capable of meeting deadlines and discerning critical aspects of data.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Marketing or Business.
- Three to five years of relevant marketing experience, ideally in FMCG or CPG sectors.
- Five or more years of advanced Excel experience; proficiency in Office 365 is essential.
- Experience with IRI/Nielsen data is required.
Work Environment: Hybrid work model, including remote work and standard office conditions.
Travel Requirements: Approximately 5-10%, which may include international travel.
Other Qualifications: Compliance with communicated Company, Travel, and Retailer safety procedures is mandatory.
