About the Position

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications for multiple term faculty positions in Statistics and Data Science. We are seeking highly qualified candidates to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our department.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching classes at the undergraduate and/or graduate level;
  • Performing service duties associated with departmental educational and operational activities;
  • Participating in student advising;
  • Developing and implementing curriculum in Statistics and Data Science;
  • Engaging in research and scholarship in Statistics and Data Science;
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the university and industry partners.
Requirements

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field, such as Data Science or Biostatistics. A strong commitment to education and demonstrated excellence in teaching are essential. Experience in research and scholarship in Statistics and Data Science is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with experience in data science and modern statistics are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with significant teaching experience, good communication skills, and the ability to build collaborations with other departments within the university and industry partners.
