POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Resource Facilitator plays a crucial role in executing and overseeing the Community School Initiative (CSI) model. This position is dedicated to supporting students and their families by fostering strategic and impactful collaborations between community organizations and educational institutions during after-school hours. The facilitator is assigned to a specific school and is accountable for the overall management and supervision of all CSI programs within that school. This includes oversight of out-of-school time programs, family engagement initiatives, leadership development, and mental health/social emotional learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary liaison among the school, CSI, SGA, service providers, students, and their families.
  • Conduct annual needs assessments to effectively allocate resources and determine suitable programming for the academic year.
  • Coordinate programming for students to ensure a minimum of 12 hours of activities are available each week for at least 28 weeks throughout the school year.
  • Organize programming for parents and caregivers to guarantee at least 50 hours of engagement opportunities annually.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote a comprehensive schedule of programs and activities available through the Community School Initiative.
  • Recruit and enroll between 75 to 100 students into various programs.
  • Facilitate classroom workshops and training sessions for teachers, parents, and community members.
  • Recruit and enroll a minimum of 35 adults into programming.
  • Identify, interview, hire, and oversee individuals and organizations (vendors) that provide programs and services to meet the needs of school staff, students, families, and community members.
  • Support vendors by managing contracts, onboarding processes, materials distribution, student recruitment, daily attendance tracking, invoicing, and service documentation.
  • Coordinate an advisory committee consisting of school community members, parents, community leaders, vendors, and student representatives, meeting at least three times a year.
  • Maintain a compliance binder containing all necessary documentation for on-site programming and training annually.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all program attendance, vendor activities, service plans, budgets, and schedules are recorded and maintained regularly.

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Implement strategies to enhance relationships among the school, families, and the community.
  • Assess and identify additional community resources, making appropriate referrals and facilitating ongoing communication among service providers, educators, parents, and students.
  • Manage all agency reporting, data collection, and documentation requirements in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and consultation to community-based organizations.
  • Maintain accurate records and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations as necessary.
  • Embrace the role of change agent within the school and community.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in vendor negotiations, program budget management, procurement of goods, and ensuring timely payments to personnel and vendors.
  • Participate fully in supervision and all scheduled training sessions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience working with children and/or adults in a nonprofit social service or community development context.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to develop community partnerships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports in a professional and timely manner.
  • Preferred: Experience working with public school systems.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse families and community groups.
  • Demonstrated discretion and independent judgment in task execution.
  • Able to engage effectively with families and the school community.
