Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to join our team. As a key member of our Water Treatment business segment, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy to drive increased profit growth in new and existing water treatment markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of high-performing regional Business Development Managers to execute the strategic plan and drive sales growth.
  • Develop and lead growth strategy into new and existing water treatment markets, identifying and evaluating new business opportunities aligned with the company's overall strategy.
  • Conduct market analysis and leverage emerging trends to develop strategic vision for new market expansion.
  • Research customer needs and trends, and use this information to inform business and product development strategies.
  • Lead profit growth through the BDM team by identifying and acquiring new customers in focused market segments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to modify existing products and services to accommodate new customer bases and potential revenue streams.
  • Develop solutions through internal collaboration, working with stakeholders to understand the company's strengths and value proposition.
  • Act as an advisor to the whole business on matters related to business development, providing guidance and support to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Develop strategies for lead generation, monitoring, and conversion, including reports showing lead generation success and failure rates.
  • Measure outcomes and adjust approach to achieve desired results.
  • Develop reporting to provide insight on the progress of business development initiatives against set strategic objectives.
  • Act as the brand ambassador for the company, ensuring consistent customer satisfaction based on a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong industry network and knowledge of competitive companies.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with strong water treatment industry knowledge.
  • 5+ years proven track record in sales.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial water treatment and wastewater treatment.
  • 3+ years successfully leading a high-performing team.
  • Enthusiasm for frequent overnight travel by air and car.
  • Professional presence and ability to develop and deliver effective sales presentations.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced math skills, including ability to perform statistics calculations.
  • Effective organizational and follow-through skills required.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong work ethic.
