The CNC Precision Machinist is responsible for operating advanced grinding machinery to manufacture components that meet precise engineering and blueprint specifications.Key Responsibilities:
Adjust and calibrate machine settings based on product requirements, applying expertise in machine operation. Utilize precision measuring instruments to assess work pieces and establish layout. Choose appropriate machine tooling based on production needs and machine capabilities. Analyze blueprints, work orders, or machining directives to ascertain product specifications, tooling needs, and operational procedures. Install and secure tools in machine holders, using both mechanical and hand tools. Initiate machine operations to grind or shape work pieces in accordance with specifications. Conduct inspections of finished components to verify compliance with specifications, employing measuring tools such as gauges or micrometers, ensuring tolerances of +/- .001 on Inside Diameter (I.D) & Outside Diameter (O.D), and validating parts against blueprint criteria. Manually position work pieces on machine tables, faceplates, or chucks, utilizing clamps as necessary. Set up and operate grinding equipment and related tools to eliminate excess material or burrs, sharpen edges, or polish metal or plastic components. Monitor machine functions to identify any operational issues; implement adjustments as needed to rectify problems. Perform any additional tasks as directed by management.Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Inside Diameter & Outside Diameter grinding operations. Knowledge: Proficient understanding of precision grinding within a dynamic manufacturing setting. Skills/Abilities: Expertise in cylindrical grinding, centerless grinding, and both Inside Diameter and Outside Diameter processes. Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Eligibility Requirement: This role may necessitate access to Controlled Data or Information, thus only US Persons will be considered. As a contractor for the US Department of Defense, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is mandatory.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Studer S20 and Inside Diameter & Outside Diameter grinding machinery.Work Environment:
Typical manufacturing conditions apply. Safety equipment usage is mandatory, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gowns, masks, hearing protection, and other required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Standing: 100% of the time. Sitting: 0% of the time. Lifting: up to 25 pounds. Pushing: up to 25 pounds. Mental/Visual: Utilization of microscopes and computers is required. Workspace: Clean bench setup.Benefits Overview:
Salary Range: $19.78 to $33.85. Salary may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Some positions may qualify for performance-based bonuses.
