About the Role

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writing Manager to lead our documentation team and drive the creation of high-quality technical content. As a key member of our Global Ads Product & Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive documentation strategy that aligns with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a team of technical writers who create accurate, concise, and engaging documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and product marketing, to ensure documentation meets business needs.
  • Design and implement processes to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible.
  • Own and maintain doc sets, including writing articles, user guides, and other technical content.
  • Assess documentation performance and leverage data-based insights to improve access and quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the company and partner with them on improving product documentation.
  • Manage key performance indicators to track progress of key metrics and goals.
  • Facilitate and manage relationships with documentation tool vendors.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop new team members.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in a technical domain, creating documentation and related resources for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of writers.
  • 2+ years of experience independently driving technical documentation projects.
  • Experience driving documentation strategy, tool selection, and content currency for API or developer documentation.
  • Experience working within a developing information architecture and familiarity with knowledge management concepts.
  • Experience defining, measuring, and being accountable for key metrics and performance indicators around the effectiveness of documentation.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them in comprehensive, accurate, accessible, and easy-to-understand documentation.
  • Proven ability to work independently, collaboratively, with ability to handle multiple management tasks and writing assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
  • Great communicator, both verbal and in writing, with strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development teams.
  • Familiarity with a topic-based, learning objective-oriented approach to creating documentation.
  • Familiarity with the AdTech industry and AdTech concepts.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Slack, Google Docs, graphics editors, and Github.
  • Knowledge of HTML, Markdown, Javascript, JSON, SQL, and APIs.
  • Experience working with content management systems including Confluence and Document360.
  • Experience working with product adoption platforms including Pendo.
  • BS/BA degree in Technical Communication or a related discipline.
