Role Summary

The Banquet Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating banquet functions and the activities of the service team to ensure member and guest satisfaction. This position collaborates closely with the Events and Catering Director, focusing primarily on catering and special events while also supporting a la carte dining services. The Country Club operates seven days a week, with specific days designated for administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster strong relationships with club members.
  • Engage with members and event hosts to enhance their experience and communicate relevant details to the service team and management.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including catering sales, vendors, and kitchen staff for successful banquet execution.
  • Prepare and assess event layouts and setup requirements.
  • Supervise front-of-house staff during event preparations and execution.
  • Conduct daily briefings with banquet personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet facilities.
  • Ensure event setups align with client specifications.
  • Direct the food and beverage service team during events.
  • Stay informed about club menus and upcoming events.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive plans for all events alongside the Events and Catering Director.
  • Contribute to the creation of catering menus and beverage selections.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Hold self and team accountable for daily operational tasks.
  • Adhere to club standards and policies to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss event logistics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors for event needs.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations.
  • Verify completion of side work and closing tasks.
  • Create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Oversee setup for holiday and member events, collaborating with decorators as necessary.
  • Open and close the club as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in banquet operations within the hospitality sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in hospitality management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with club management software is advantageous but not mandatory.
