Position Overview:

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Working Hours: 9am to 5pm or 6pm (Availability for at least two evenings weekly is essential to support families' needs)
  • Work Environment: Solution-Focused Casework

Key Responsibilities:

The Case Worker will be tasked with:
  • Providing home-based and on-site counseling for individuals, families, and groups, along with short-term crisis intervention, advocacy, and outreach for a designated caseload of eight families.
  • Engaging families promptly upon referral, occasionally participating in Child Safety Conferences.
  • Applying and integrating the principles of Solution-Based Casework (SBC), including assessment, family and individual outcomes, action planning, and thorough documentation.
  • Managing case-related crises with professionalism and urgency, including situations that require reporting to the State Central Registry.
  • Conducting screenings and assessments related to substance use, mental health, and child safety, including evaluating caregiver capacity and home conditions.
  • Incorporating SBC practices into each counseling session.
  • Ensuring that every child is seen and assessed monthly.
  • Meeting necessary case work contacts throughout the treatment phases: Initial, Baseline, and Stabilization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or related fields.
  • Experience in child welfare is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and counseling skills are required.
  • Availability to work at least two evenings weekly to accommodate family schedules.
  • Demonstrated inquiry skills and the ability to share best practices.
  • A commitment to a strength-based, trauma-informed approach, focusing on youth and family development.
  • Training or certification in SBC is a plus.
