Objective

Guarantee that the 600 MW State Line Power Station operates as a safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible energy source for the Southwest Power Pool, thereby maximizing shareholder returns while minimizing impacts on Liberty's financial performance. This role is integral to the operation and maintenance of the plant, requiring a comprehensive understanding of all operational and maintenance facets. The position involves developing, executing, and overseeing projects, in addition to providing support during plant outages. It also entails acquiring skills in plant support systems and assisting other managers and personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to plant initiatives aimed at achieving Liberty's Triple Zero goal by participating in weekly safety meetings and supporting safety plans and protocols.

Conduct Safety Observations to ensure adherence to safety measures.

Assist in formulating both short- and long-term strategies for enhancing safety. Lead initiatives within a multi-year safety training program as assigned.

Gain a thorough understanding of plant operations, including operational systems, equipment, and their interconnections. Familiarize yourself with maintenance processes and procedures.

Engage in On-the-Job Training programs, Energy Supply Operator Training, and collaborate with experienced plant staff and managers.

Continue professional development beyond the aforementioned programs. Support plant staff and management in the operation and maintenance of the State Line Power Station, including availability for weekend assistance.

Be prepared for 24/7 operational and maintenance support. Assist with the O&M budget and procurement by researching and specifying equipment and parts as directed.

Plan, execute, and oversee projects valued under $50,000, which includes developing work packages, bid documents, schedules, evaluating bids, awarding contracts, and managing all contract aspects, including budget and timeline. Provide assistance for larger projects.

Support the development of the Capital Budget and participate in outage planning and execution.

Manage 3 to 5 outage tasks involving a crew of 3 to 5 individuals over a duration of 2 to 4 days.

Assist with larger outage projects, including those involving contractors as well as self-performed tasks.

Acquire foundational skills in systems that support plant operations and maintenance, including but not limited to, Plant Distributed Control System, Maintenance Management System, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, and Corporate Financial Management System.

Qualifications

Broad Job Knowledge - Possess a comprehensive understanding of theories and principles within a professional field or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent is required. A degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred. Degrees in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution may also be accepted based on experience.

Experience - 1 to 3 years of experience in power plant operations is preferred.
