Position Overview:

The Healthcare Provider Credentialing Coordinator (HPCC) collaborates with the Director of Medical Staff Services to ensure that all provider credentials are maintained accurately and that new provider credentialing processes are executed efficiently for Conway Medical Center (CMC). The HPCC liaises with the CMC Medical Staff office and the CPG Administrative office to verify that physician licenses, malpractice insurance, and all necessary credentialing documentation are kept current. Responsibilities include conducting primary source verification and ensuring that applications are processed in a timely manner for committee review. The HPCC prepares essential documentation for providers and vendors to be presented to the Credentialing Committee. Additionally, the HPCC is responsible for maintaining up-to-date credentialing files and managing the credentialing electronic system to comply with Medical Staff bylaw requirements. The HPCC is also expected to perform call schedule-related tasks as needed. Serving as a liaison with Medical Staff, the HPCC provides administrative support to the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Staff leadership, and the governance structure. Confidentiality of all information is paramount. The HPCC may be called back to work during emergency situations, such as mass casualty events or internal disasters.

Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • Associate's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in physician credentialing is required.
Special Skills:
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, department heads, and representatives of third-party insurance carriers is essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Exceptional core customer service skills are strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
