Job Summary:

CodeForce is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support our OBGYN site. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a highly professional environment, ensuring a collaborative relationship with patients and physicians. Your responsibilities will include assisting with non-clinical tasks, scheduling patients, and preparing chart elements. You will also be responsible for pre-authorization processes and acting as a liaison between providers and patients. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with staff to ensure all proper records are received and all appropriate testing is completed prior to appointment/surgery date. You will provide updates to staff and patients on timing and status for all tasks that could impact patient health and/or testing and treatment options. Ensures even patient flow and continuous communication within Hoag and referring physician offices. May be required to start at a different location throughout the workweek or travel to multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with non-clinical tasks to ensure smooth patient access and flow.
  • Schedule patients, including follow-up office visits, imaging, and lab work.
  • Prepare chart elements and ensure all proper records are received.
  • Act as a liaison between providers and patients.
  • Provide updates to staff and patients on timing and status for all tasks.
  • Ensure even patient flow and continuous communication within Hoag and referring physician offices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year previous medical back office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment.
  • Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of EPIC or other Electronic Medical Record system 'EMR'.
  • Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates.
