Position Summary

This role is part-time, operating from 6:30 AM to 5 PM.

We are seeking operating room (OR) nurses with a minimum of 1 year of circulating experience. Our Operating Room nurses are essential members of high-performing teams committed to excellence and exceptional patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion, and dedication to evidence-based practices, functioning at an advanced level of practice.
  • Skilled clinician with extensive experience in patient care, possessing a solid understanding of the needs of specific patient populations.
  • Regularly applies acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to adapt to changes in clinical scenarios. Acts as Charge Nurse when designated. Provides orientation to staff or students as needed in the absence of a designated preceptor.
  • Capable of implementing the Synergy Model for Care in practice, utilizing this knowledge to customize care for each patient and family.
  • Focuses on patient and family needs while considering cost containment. Advocates for patients based on a thorough understanding of their conditions.
  • Identifies and executes a plan of action in non-routine circumstances, seeking assistance to resolve complex issues when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with 12 months of recent nursing experience within the last five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • Must possess a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS may be necessary in designated departments

Work Environment

Emory Hillandale Hospital is a fast-paced environment with an interdisciplinary team. We have successfully performed over 150+ total joint procedures without any surgical site infections.
  • Hillandale is a 100-bed community hospital
  • Patient demographics include General Surgery, Gynecological, Orthopedic, Peripheral Vascular, Plastics, and Urology surgeries
  • Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
