Key Responsibilities:
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various models of Hyster-Yale forklifts and competitive material handling equipment.
- Working with different fuel systems, drivetrains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of apprentice technicians through hands-on experience.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies during work.
- Identifying and ordering necessary replacement parts accurately.
- Operating the service vehicle in a clean and secure manner, following all safety regulations.
- Performing other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma, G.E.D., or technical school certification is preferred.
- Proven ability to repair equipment according to skill level.
- Basic knowledge of computer and tablet usage (Microsoft and Apple operating systems).
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record throughout employment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Competence in writing routine correspondence and performing basic mathematical calculations.
Physical and Workplace Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include regular standing, walking, and using hands for handling and reaching. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and varying weather conditions. The noise level may be loud in certain environments.
