Manufacturing Innovation Specialist

This onsite role is part of our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit at Scarborough, Maine. As a Manufacturing Innovation Specialist, you will support product development from concept to sustained manufacturing of FDA-regulated products.
Your responsibilities will include process development, equipment specification, acquisition, and implementation. You will identify the root cause of manufacturing failures and apply fixes to prevent reoccurrence. Additionally, you will evaluate machine logic, electromechanical systems, and process controls to troubleshoot equipment.
Other key tasks include designing experiments, validating testing, analyzing data for continuous improvement activities, and presenting data to equipment teams. You will also suggest new methods or materials for quality and efficiency improvements and create detailed plans for equipment suitability assessments.
You will work with other engineers and technicians to develop solutions and improvements in materials, equipment, and processes as necessary. Participation in teams to ensure continual improvement, safety, and compliance is also expected.
Beyond that, you will provide training and process expertise for product processing in specific areas such as process development, tooling development, and validation. Additionally, you may manage engineering project teams and coordinate activities, mentor junior engineers and maintenance technicians, and initiate Quality Incidents and CAPA resolutions.
Salary InformationThe estimated salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years' engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with material testing and measuring methods
- Knowledge of database software, CAD software, development software, internet software, inventory software, manufacturing software, project management software, Microsoft Excel software, and Microsoft Word software
