OVERVIEW

The Behavioral Intervention Technician (BIT) at Vista Autism Services plays a crucial role in executing individualized client strategies in educational and community environments. Collaborating with supervisors, educators, and clinical leaders, the BIT is dedicated to nurturing effective relationships with all involved parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement designated client strategies and programs with precision across various settings, ensuring the use of appropriate safety equipment when necessary.
  • Complete accurate documentation for services provided within educational environments.
  • Generate comprehensive session reports while maintaining professional relationships with families and collaborators.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities and recreational swimming.
  • Gather and record data on client behaviors and developmental progress.
  • Provide mentorship to team members and accept constructive feedback graciously.
  • Engage with all stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Efficiently fulfill assigned responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position entails various physical activities including sitting, walking, running, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. Employees may be required to assist clients during interventions and utilize protective equipment.

SCHEDULE DETAILS

This full-time, year-round position adheres to the program calendar, with working hours typically from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Training sessions are scheduled during school breaks.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Completion of Safe and Positive Approaches Training.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in Human Services or educational settings.
  • Experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques for individuals with Autism.
  • Preferred certifications in First Aid and CPR.
