Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist at Monarch Spring Meadows plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents. This position involves performing routine upkeep and repairs both inside and outside the facility, as well as installing and maintaining equipment.
Reporting StructureThis role reports directly to the Maintenance Director and is classified as a non-exempt, hourly position.
Work ScheduleThis is a Per Diem position, requiring availability for a few days each week.
Key Responsibilities- Engage respectfully with residents while maintaining confidentiality.
- Address maintenance requests from residents and staff, executing necessary tasks or informing the supervisor of additional resources needed.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks, including light electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
- Regularly inspect all areas of the property, including grounds and equipment, to ensure proper maintenance.
- Perform a variety of routine and preventative maintenance tasks to uphold community standards.
- Safely handle, store, and maintain potentially hazardous materials and equipment, keeping accurate documentation and Safety Data Sheets as required by OSHA.
- Stay informed about the Emergency Preparedness Plan and assist the Maintenance Director with monthly emergency drills.
- Support the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of one year of hands-on maintenance or related experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with maintenance and housekeeping practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with a willingness to learn new software.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and utilize both fine and gross motor skills while performing job duties.
- Ability to lift or carry weights up to 50 lbs and assist residents as needed, using proper body mechanics.
