Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Architect to join our team and design and evolve data frameworks, standards, and principles that significantly impact the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define Enterprise Data Architecture Principles: Develop and communicate data architecture principles, standards, and frameworks to stakeholders, management, and business partners.
  2. Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Keep up-to-date with the latest tools, technologies, ideas, patterns, and methodologies and effectively communicate these insights to key stakeholders.
  3. Assist with Technology Selection: Collaborate with the team to select data-related technologies and develop standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for those tools.
  4. Review Technological Changes: Actively review technological changes in data management and evaluate the value of these trends to the organization, presenting findings to management and team members.
  5. Work with Product Teams: Partner with product teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify and meet data requirements.
  6. Develop Disaster Recovery Plans: Collaborate with business technology teams to develop and maintain plans to ensure data availability and integrity in the event of a disaster or system failure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 8+ years of experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies
  • 5+ years of proven implementation experience with scalable cloud data platform technologies (Snowflake, AWS preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with databases and big data technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • 3+ years of experience in data lake design and implementation
  • Experience in architecting streaming/event-driven data platforms, addressing data lineage and quality issues, and familiarity with modern data operating models
  • Proficiency in sourcing, transforming, and processing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups in an agile/rapid development environment
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for PCI and GDPR compliance
  • Experience with machine learning/deep learning is a plus
  • Work experience in the air travel industry is a plus
