Role Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Clinical Dietician, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality medical nutrition therapy, adhering to the Nutrition Care Process. This position involves working with adult patients, requiring availability for 2-3 days per week, including some weekends and weekdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients for nutritional risks using established criteria.
  • Analyze age-specific, developmental, and disease-related nutritional needs.
  • Design and implement tailored nutritional care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition therapy interventions.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Act as a mentor for Dietetic Interns.
  • Engage in research initiatives and advocate for evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees and community outreach to promote nutrition therapy.
  • Serve as a resource for physicians and allied health professionals.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
  • 1-2 years of clinical dietetic experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Current registration as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligibility for registration within 90 days of hire.
  • Licensure by the Texas Department of State Health Services must be obtained within one year.
