Role Responsibilities and RequirementsAs a Clinical Dietitian, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process. This position focuses on adult patients, requiring availability for 2-3 days weekly, including weekends and some weekdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients for nutritional risks based on established guidelines.
- Analyze nutritional needs specific to age, development, and medical conditions.
- Design and implement tailored nutritional care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition therapy interventions.
- Provide nutritional education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Act as a mentor for Dietetic Interns.
- Engage in research initiatives and advocate for evidence-based practices.
- Participate in departmental and hospital committees and community outreach to promote nutrition therapy.
- Serve as a resource for physicians and allied health professionals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
- 1-2 years of clinical dietetic experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Current registration as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligibility for registration within 90 days of hire.
- Licensure by the Texas Department of State Health Services must be obtained within one year.
