Join Our Team as a Clinical Support Specialist

As an essential member of our healthcare team, you will deliver technical clinical services and administrative assistance to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care under the guidance of licensed personnel, including physicians and mid-level practitioners.
This position entails a commitment of 24 hours per week in a clinical setting. There is an option for a full-time role that includes remote work for the Practice Support Team for an additional 16 hours per week during non-academic breaks.
Throughout the academic year, excluding designated breaks, you will split your time between the clinic and remote support duties. During academic breaks, including summer, you will transition to full-time remote support.
Initial training will be conducted in person until you are equipped to work independently in a remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather patient assessment data, including height, weight, vital signs, primary complaints, and current medications for evaluation by licensed staff.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in work areas, including exam and treatment rooms, as well as the laboratory; sterilize reusable equipment as necessary.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including the collection of urine samples and preparation of blood specimens for external laboratories.
- Document patient information in medical records, including updates on treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient inquiries.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by recognized bodies such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is preferred, along with comparable military training and experience.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in a physician's office is preferred. Current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national professional association is required.
Proficiency in computer skills is necessary to utilize database systems effectively, including electronic medical records.
