Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Tech- Cardiac

We are seeking a skilled Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Tech- Cardiac to join our team at Meriter-UnityPoint Health. This is a 0.6 FTE, day shift position that requires strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, utilizing Epic to facilitate patient care orders.
- Facilitate unit operations, managing the desk area and coordinating downtime procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two, four-hour classes on cardiac rhythm interpretation during the orientation period.
- Keyboard skills and principles of effective communication.
- Knowledge of data entry systems and effective organizational skills.
- Prior experience in an acute care setting.
- Prior experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or Monitor Technician.
- Medical terminology.
