About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Human Resources Associate to join our team at Geomet Recycling. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and services to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our human resource functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Provide education and training to employees and supervisors on our Human Resources Information System, ensuring seamless adoption and utilization.
  • Assist the training coordinator in maintaining the Learning Management System, producing reports as needed, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, and other HR-related inquiries.
  • Orient new employees in our various benefit plans, provide direction on enrollment processes, and assist with the annual enrollment process.
  • May assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions, resolving processing errors, and distributing checks, serving as a backup for payroll processing.
  • Act as a liaison between our organization and external benefits providers and vendors, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct or assist with the pre-employment and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Assist with planning and execution of employee engagement events, such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.
  • Assist with sourcing and recruiting for various departments, scheduling candidates for interviews, and overseeing the employee uniform program.
  • Collaborate with the EHS team on administrative functions, including distribution of PPE, OSHA reporting, and management of worker's comp claims.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field and/or 1-2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external customers.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred, but not required.
  • Exhibits analytical and critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills in various areas.
  • Possesses project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and follow through on projects.
  • Demonstrates global and cultural awareness, as well as ethical practice, in dealing with confidential matters and materials.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and similar computer applications, as well as Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
