Job Title: CT Technologist-RADIOLOGY CAT SCAN DIAG-Full Time-Day-Mount Sinai Queens

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans of anatomical areas as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist, prepare, and position patients as required to perform imaging procedures.
  • Perform CT scans and other diagnostic exams.
  • Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patient needs.
  • Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
  • Operate radiographic imaging equipment associated with CT, including injectors.
  • Prepare patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes.
  • Assist in preparation of sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists.
  • Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
  • Perform quality assurance procedures as required.
  • Ensure images are appropriately labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.
  • Assist physicians directly as required.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability.
  • Maintain supplies and accessories in imaging rooms.
  • Accurately record patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System).
  • Schedule exams into IDX as required.
  • Ensure studies are completed in IDX in a timely fashion.
  • Call for in-patients as required.
  • Perform related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
  • Inform supervisor or personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions.
  • Prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees.
  • Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
  • Maintain licensure specific to job, including adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive CT experience (will consider new graduates).
  • Excellent technical skills, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and positioning.
  • New York State License (L.R.T.).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification.
  • Current CPR.
