CT Technologist-RADIOLOGY CAT SCAN DIAG-Full Time-Day-Mount Sinai Queens

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans of anatomical areas as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist, prepare, and position patients as required to perform imaging procedures.
- Perform CT scans and other diagnostic exams.
- Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patient needs.
- Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
- Operate radiographic imaging equipment associated with CT, including injectors.
- Prepare patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes.
- Assist in preparation of sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
- Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
- Perform quality assurance procedures as required.
- Ensure images are appropriately labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.
- Assist physicians directly as required.
- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability.
- Maintain supplies and accessories in imaging rooms.
- Accurately record patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System).
- Schedule exams into IDX as required.
- Ensure studies are completed in IDX in a timely fashion.
- Call for in-patients as required.
- Perform related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
- Inform supervisor or personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions.
- Prevent the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees.
- Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
- Maintain licensure specific to job, including adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive CT experience (will consider new graduates).
- Excellent technical skills, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and positioning.
- New York State License (L.R.T.).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification.
- Current CPR.
