Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Mount Sinai Queens. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare medications for inpatients, outpatients, and employees in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Verify each transaction by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile products as per protocol and ensure final verification by a pharmacist.
  • Dispense controlled substances, tax-free alcohol, and investigational new drugs under pharmacist supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensing and inventory management.
  • Ensure an adequate inventory of medications and supplies is maintained.
  • Conduct regular audits of controlled drug disposition records and report discrepancies to management.
  • Perform other professional functions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Requirements
  • 3 years minimum completed at an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Valid New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit required.
