Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist program leads in planning and implementing recreation programs, including social outings, arts and crafts, sports, fitness, dance, swimming, bowling, and cooking.
  • Supervise participants, providing individualized support and care as needed, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources, such as the YMCA, schools, churches, and city recreation departments, to enhance program offerings and opportunities.
  • Provide direct support and communication with individuals, families, and caregivers, ensuring a collaborative and person-centered approach.
  • Take leadership responsibility in emergency situations, including calling emergency services and providing transportation as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or experience in a recreation or sports leadership position.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Pass company background and reference checks.
