Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Healthy Living Initiatives. This key leadership role will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all health and wellness programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and wellness programs for adults, youth, teens, seniors, and special populations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of fitness floor staff, group exercise instructors, personal trainers, and volunteers.
  • Integrate a holistic approach to health and wellness, incorporating physical activity, nutrition, and stress management.
  • Collaborate with community resources to enhance relationships and cultivate partnerships.
  • Coordinate annual special events and develop and implement annual budgets for assigned program areas.
  • Oversee program enrollment, retention, evaluation, payment records, and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe program area, adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Deliver direct service through personal training, group exercise, or community health programming.
  • Participate in staff meetings, Board of Director meetings, and professional training as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two years' experience instructing in related programs.
  • At least two years' supervision experience.
  • Experience in personal training, health and wellness programming, and internal marketing/special events.
