Job Summary

MaineHealth's Patient Financial Services team is seeking a skilled Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. This is a 100% remote opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

This role is part of a revenue cycle career path within PFS and is responsible for specific patient accounting tasks, including billing, training, and follow-up/denial resolution of insurance claims. The successful candidate will work within a team-based setting, ensuring workloads are distributed evenly and performing necessary account research to determine proper governmental requirements. A trainer will provide support and ensure training and auditing needs are met.

Requirements

  1. Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: 9 months in a related healthcare field, with hospital or provider-based billing experience preferred.
  4. Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Proficiencies: Keyboard and data entry skills required, with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and internet communication.
  6. Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team to solve problems and work towards solutions.
  7. Proven proficiency in working a minimum of one role (billing, collections, or healthcare accounts receivables training) for one payer (hospital) or one specialty (physician) or training.
  8. Specialized knowledge: Hospital or provider-based billing preferred.
  9. Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD9/10 codes.
