Role Overview:
As a Sound Engineering Specialist, you will leverage your engineering background, expertise, and technical skills to design and enhance our product offerings. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and other departments to provide guidance and leadership throughout all stages of product development, including specification, implementation, testing, and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate within an ISO 9001 framework by adhering to established procedures and contributing to the enhancement of the ISO 9001 processes.
  • Engage in continuous learning and the application of new technologies, participate in product development planning, and contribute to the quality assurance processes.
  • Design and develop filter coefficients utilizing various development tools, environments, and programming languages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address product-related challenges. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and analyses to enhance reliability, quality, and profitability.
  • Manage project tracking, budgeting, and scheduling tasks as required.
  • Attend industry seminars, engage with customers, and produce technical documentation to support technological advancements.
  • Support mechanical and hardware design initiatives, providing insights for instrument additions and replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures within the calibration system and uphold the standards of the Quality Management System.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and production teams regarding new products and procedures impacting metrology and calibration.
  • Approve calibration and certification testing procedures and systems.
  • Assess the accuracy and measurement uncertainty of measurement and test equipment (M&TE) utilized in the calibration system, proactively seeking improvements.
  • Work alongside management to establish policies governing access to testing areas.
  • Serve as a resource for other managers concerning their responsibilities related to the calibration system.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the engineering department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, along with a Master’s degree in Acoustics or equivalent industry experience.


Experience:
A minimum of three to five years of experience in acoustic design and testing or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with metrology standards and principles, including sound measurement and uncertainty calculations, is essential. Experience working with certifying bodies to maintain industry accreditations is advantageous.

Travel Requirement:
While travel is infrequent, occasional travel may be required for industry conferences, typically less than 10% of the time.
