Job Responsibilities

As a Hospital Security Officer, your primary responsibility is to deter crime and maintain order within the assigned post. You will patrol the facility, detect suspicious activities, and respond to incidents as dispatched. Your duties will include:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age; 21 for Armed or Taser positions
  • High school diploma, College Degree, or GED
  • 5 years of work experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years verifiable work history
  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying
  • Driving Positions Only: Must possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle

Work Environment

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You must be able to handle both common and crisis situations calmly and efficiently. You will be required to work in various environments, including adverse outdoor conditions.

Physical and Mental Functions

You must be able to:

  • Climb and descend stairs to all floors of the hospital
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Assist in lifting patients as needed
  • Restrain violent/combative patients to prevent injuries
