Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Technician II to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson. As a key member of our Construction Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections of contractors' operations on transportation projects to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Conduct routine material testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Measure and track quantities of pay items to ensure accurate billing and payment.
  • Gather and maintain records of material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors' daily diaries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active driver's license.
  • 2+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects.
  • NCDOT certifications, including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing, are preferred.
  • 4+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects is preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires extensive physical activity, including bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Work may be conducted outside in various weather conditions.
