Production Process Technician

Job Overview

Position Title: Process Operator 1

Department: Production - Resins

Work Schedule: Standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with mandatory overtime including some weekends as required.

Role Summary: Responsible for the setup and operation of various mixing and storage tanks, as well as process pumps, filters, and other machinery essential for the formulation of finished products and base resins. This role involves utilizing both Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and manual operations as necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accessing tank wagon hatches and loading/filling tank trucks, tank cars, drums, totes, and other containers as needed.
  • Conducting housekeeping duties in accordance with established expectations.
  • Performing facility inspections (Rounds) as directed.
  • Gaining proficiency in the operation of various computer control systems such as Delta V, QUBE, and PS2.
  • Generating batch tickets and recording operational data using computer systems to manage programs effectively.
  • Meeting or exceeding safety, quality, and cycle time standards.

The candidate will have the opportunity to advance to the Operator 2 position based on seniority and successful completion of training in the alkyd manufacturing process.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must be able to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the workday and possess basic reading, math, and computer skills. Proficiency in operating all necessary processing equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, is essential. The ability to handle hazardous materials safely and wear a respirator when necessary is also required. Continuous walking throughout the workday is expected. Experience in a resin plant is advantageous.

Orientation Period: Up to 90 days based on experience.
